A Russian strike drone violated Moldovan airspace on the evening of August 10 during Russia’s massive attack on the Odessa region. The drone remained over the country for about a minute, after which it returned to Ukraine.

This was reported by the Moldovan publication Newsmaker, citing the Air Operations Service of the National Army of Moldova and the country’s Ministry of Defense.

According to the Moldovan side, at 23:41 radars detected an unknown object moving from the direction of the village of Stepanivka, Odessa region. The drone crossed the border and entered Moldovan airspace near the village of Priozerne, Slobozia district.

At 11:42 p.m., the drone left the territory of Moldova and flew back towards Ukraine — north of Stepanivka.

The Moldovan Ministry of Defense stated that the drone’s characteristics were similar to the Russian Geran-3, a jet version of the Shahed-238 attack drone.

Around the same time, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the movement of a jet attack drone in the Odessa region near settlements located near the border with Moldova.

Thus, during the attack on the Odessa region, the Russian drone actually crossed the airspace of a neighboring state, after which it returned to the territory of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on Saturday, August 9, a powerful explosion occurred near the settlement of Krokmaz in the Stefan-Vodka district of Moldova, after which vegetation caught fire. At the scene , police found fragments of a combat drone , no one was injured as a result of the explosion and fire.
