Russian drones attacked Sumy: one person died

On the morning of September 12, Russian drones attacked the city of Sumy. One person was killed in the strike — the body of a security guard was found under the rubble of a destroyed building.

This was announced by the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, and the head of the Sumy OVA, Oleh Hrygorov.

According to Kobzar, two powerful explosions were heard in the city – kamikaze drones hit a non-residential facility. After the attack, the building caught fire.

“The two explosions that all residents of Sumy heard were strikes by enemy drones. The strike occurred in a non-residential building. Initially, the data on the victims was being clarified,” the mayor of the city commented on the situation.

The head of the OVA reported that a guard might have been in the destroyed building. After the first strike, he was still able to communicate, but after the second, contact disappeared.

Due to the risk of a second attack, the State Emergency Service could not immediately begin emergency and rescue operations. Only later, when the situation stabilized, did specialists begin search operations at the site of the attack.

“All emergency services have been involved. The consequences of the attack and search operations are ongoing at the scene,” Grigorov noted.

Later, it became known that the body of a deceased man was found under the rubble. As the head of the region specified, it was the building’s security guard.

As a reminder, the Russians attacked an educational institution in the Central District of Kherson with a drone – about 20 windows were broken and two doors were damaged.

As reported, Russian occupiers struck a police car with an FPV drone in the Kupyansky district of the Kharkiv region , injuring three law enforcement officers.
