Russian drones hit Odessa: houses destroyed, dozens injured

On the night of January 27, Russian troops carried out another attack with drones on southern Ukraine. Odesa and the Odesa region came under fire.

This was reported by the head of the Odessa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.

According to him, 22 people were injured in the attack in Odessa. Civil infrastructure facilities, apartment buildings and private residential buildings, as well as the territory of one of the construction sites were damaged.

One of the injured women received shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized, where she is receiving medical care. Rescuers unblocked another woman from the damaged building – her condition is stable, there is no threat to her life.

In addition to residential buildings, social facilities were damaged, including a kindergarten and a church building in the central part of the city. In the area of the impact, the blast wave shattered windows in surrounding homes.

As a result of the strikes, large-scale fires broke out, which continue to be extinguished by units of the State Emergency Service. Rescuers unblocked people from damaged premises, children were among the evacuees. Some of the residents were taken to safe places.

The most difficult situation is recorded in the Khadzhibeyskyi district of Odessa, where part of a residential building has been destroyed. According to preliminary data, people may be under the rubble – search and rescue operations are ongoing.

All emergency services and operational headquarters are working on the ground. The elimination of the consequences of the attack is ongoing, and information about the extent of the damage is being clarified.

As a reminder, Russian troops launched a drone and missile strike on Kharkiv . The Industrial District of the city was hit, and there were casualties.
