On the afternoon of September 12, Russian forces attacked railway infrastructure in Lutsk, Fastiv, and Kovel with drones. In Lutsk, the train cars caught fire as a result of the strike, but passengers and railway workers were evacuated in advance, and there were no injuries.

This was announced by Oleksandr Pertsovsky, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to him, the hits were recorded in Lutsk and Fastiv. Passengers and employees were evacuated from dangerous places in advance.

“Passengers were evacuated from the train in advance, employees from their workplaces. All safe,” Pertsovsky reported.

A fire broke out in train cars in Lutsk after a drone hit. The State Emergency Service reported that the fire has already been extinguished.

Ukrzaliznytsia warned that train schedules may change due to the attack. Railway workers are working with enhanced security measures.

In addition, a Russian drone hit a public transport stop in Zvyahel, Zhytomyr region. There is no information about casualties or other consequences of the strike in the incoming message.

By the way, due to increased Russian attacks on railway infrastructure and rolling stock in the Sumy region, trains will temporarily run only to the Konotop station.

Recall that on the night of September 12, Russian troops launched missile strikes on the industrial enterprises “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” and “Zaporizhstal” . As a result of the attacks on “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih”, 2 employees of contracting organizations were killed, 2 more were injured, and 4 employees were injured at “Zaporizhstal”.
