Russian drones violated Turkish airspace three times in five days: what is known

Turkey has recorded three sightings of Russian drones in its airspace in the past five days, near Ankara, Istanbul and the Balikesir region, sparking security debates.

Journalists report that the first drone was shot down near the city of Cankırı, about 120 kilometers from the capital Ankara.
The second drone was discovered near Kocaeli, 30 kilometers south of Istanbul.
The Turkish Ministry of Interior has determined that the captured drones belong to the Orlan-10 type. This drone is used by Russia for reconnaissance missions.
The third drone was found in a field near Balikesir, a few hours’ drive southwest of Istanbul.
The incidents have sparked a debate about the effectiveness of air defense systems in the country. Opposition Republican People’s Party lawmaker and former ambassador Namik Tan said the drone was able to approach the capital and strategic military facilities before being intercepted.
By the way, in Turkey, near the city of Izmit in the province of Kocaeli, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle Orlan-10 crashed . The incident occurred in a rural area approximately 50 kilometers from Istanbul, and an official investigation has been launched.
