Russian government plane heads to Alaska: who’s in Putin’s delegation?

On Thursday, August 14, a Russian government Il-96-300 aircraft of the Rossiya special forces unit, flight RSD 381, took off from Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport and headed for Anchorage, a city in Alaska, USA, where high-level talks are scheduled.
This is evidenced by data from the Flightradar service.
According to aviation monitoring, the plane took off at 7:50 a.m. and is currently heading over the northern coast of Russia. Its route runs along the Arctic Ocean, unaccompanied by other identified aircraft.
It has not yet been officially confirmed who is on board. It is possible that Russian leader Vladimir Putin himself could be among the passengers, although this information is being kept secret. The plane is expected to land in Anchorage at around 6:43 a.m. local time (17:43 Kyiv time).
Meanwhile, it has become known who will be part of the Russian delegation at the talks with US President Donald Trump. Among the participants:

Minister of Defense Andrey Belousov,
Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov,
Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, who the media called a key channel in contacts with Washington.
It is Dmitriev, according to reports, who is responsible for the investment and economic block of the dialogue. Ushakov previously confirmed that after the leaders’ personal conversation in a tete-a-tete format, an expanded meeting of the delegations will take place.
Alaska will be the site of Trump and Putin’s first face-to-face meeting since the start of the major war in Ukraine. The talks are taking place against a backdrop of numerous geopolitical risks and rumors of attempts to reach a grand ceasefire deal.
It should be noted that US President Donald Trump insisted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not attend talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, which are scheduled to take place in Alaska. The reason is the fear that Zelensky’s presence could disrupt the dialogue with the Kremlin.

As reported, US President Donald Trump planned to present economic incentives at a meeting with Vladimir Putin on August 15 — but not through NATO. If Moscow agrees to end the war in Ukraine, Washington could offer it preferences that would change the balance.
