During a nighttime missile attack on Kyiv, a Russian ballistic missile destroyed the Terminal Autonomy drone manufacturing plant, owned by an American company. The plant produced high-precision long-range drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
This is reported by The Guardian.
According to the publication, the strike occurred during a massive attack on the Ukrainian capital. Journalists note that this is likely the first time since the start of the full-scale war that Russia has attacked a defense enterprise of an American company on the territory of Ukraine. There is no information about the casualties as a result of the strike.
The attack was first reported by Russian state media, citing the Russian Defense Ministry. The reports claimed that “specialists from a Ukrainian-American company” worked at the enterprise, and also mentioned the AQ-400 Scythe and AQ-100 Bayonet drones, which were allegedly produced at the plant.
According to the publication, Terminal Autonomy is an American company registered in the state of Delaware in 2023. Its enterprise in Ukraine produced high-precision strike drones for long-range strikes, equipped with guidance systems resistant to Russian electronic warfare equipment.
“We are using AI-controlled kamikaze drones and precision-guided munitions, which are already being actively used against enemy targets on the front line,” the company’s website says.
At the same time, The Guardian’s interlocutors emphasize that for Russia, such enterprises are legitimate military targets regardless of who they belong to, because they produce weapons for the Ukrainian military.
