On the night of January 7, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a ballistic missile and nearly a hundred strike drones. Air defense forces destroyed most of the air targets.

This is reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The attack began at around 6:00 p.m. on January 6. Russia launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Taganrog region, as well as 95 Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of strike drones. The launches were carried out from the directions of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, and Gvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as from the Donetsk region. About 60 of the drones were Shaheds.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.

As of 07:30, air defense forces had shot down or suppressed one ballistic missile and 81 enemy drones in the north, center, and east of the country.

At the same time, 14 strike UAVs were recorded hitting eight locations, as well as the falling debris of downed drones at five more sites. The attack continues – enemy drones remain in the airspace. Citizens are urged not to ignore air alert signals and to follow safety rules.

As a reminder, over the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed another 1,040 Russian occupiers, as well as dozens of pieces of equipment and weapons.
