The UN monitoring mission in June recorded the highest civilian casualty rate in three years, with the Russians killing 232 people and wounding 1,343.
This is stated in the report of the UN mission.
It is noted that in the first half of 2025, the total number of civilians killed and injured was 6,754, which is 54 percent more than in the same period in 2024.
“Overall, over the past six months, the number of civilian deaths has increased by 17 percent and the number of wounded by 64 percent,” the report says.
In June, the Russian occupiers carried out ten times more missile strikes and attacks using loitering munitions than in June 2024.
It is noted that virtually no region in Ukraine was safe, regardless of distance from the front line. Civilians were killed or injured in at least 16 regions and Kyiv.
In addition, the Russians are increasingly using short-range drones, which has led to fatal consequences for communities located near the front line.
The UN previously reported that in May 2025, at least 183 Ukrainian civilians were killed and another 836 were injured as a result of massive attacks by the Russian Federation .
