Officers of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces are serving in the rear in reserve units without reason, which indicates demoralization and crisis among the commanders of the enemy army.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“More than 45% of officers of the Russian Armed Forces who are part of the reserve units of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces have no legal grounds for serving in the rear,” the GUR report says.
According to official documents from the Chief of Staff of the Southern Military District, Mykhailo Husko, 900 officers were unjustifiably transferred to rear units. At least 200 of them were appointed despite the fact that their positions were full. The documents also record cases of officers voluntarily leaving the service.
The mass desertion from the front lines, framed as a formal transfer to the rear, indicates demoralization and crisis in the Russian command structure.
“Aware of the scale of losses and the inevitability of their own death, officers of the aggressor state are trying at all costs to avoid participating in hostilities,” the GUR notes.
Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence officers released a radio intercept in which the occupier talks about a comrade who was considered missing, but was actually eaten by a “comrade” .
