During a massive attack on the night of May 24, Russia likely launched not one, but two medium-range Oreshnik missiles into Ukraine. One of them may have malfunctioned and landed in the occupied part of Donetsk Oblast.
This is stated in a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts cite data from Ukrainian OSINT researchers who analyzed video of the aftermath of the night attack.
The footage shows six submunitions falling in succession. One Ukrainian source suggested that the missile could have hit Russian positions near Avdiivka or Yasynuvata.
ISW notes that if this information is confirmed, it would mean that every fourth Oreshnik that the Russian Federation used in the war against Ukraine was out of order.
As is known, three garages were damaged as a result of a Russian strike with an Oreshnik missile on Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region.
