Margarita Simonyan, Kremlin propagandist and editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and the RT television channel, has been diagnosed with cancer.
This was reported in The Moscow Times.
As noted, Simonyan spoke about the illness on the air of the program “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov,” noting that doctors diagnosed her with a “terrible, serious” illness.
“I decided that I had to go on air today and tell the truth, because it’s always better to tell it myself than to let people be guided by rumors,” she said.
According to the publication’s sources, the propagandist was diagnosed with cancer. Simonyan herself hinted at a surgical operation to remove the breast, but did not specifically name the disease that the doctors diagnosed.
The issue of continuing her work at RT is currently being considered, including the option of her dismissal.
It was previously reported that former US President Joe Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
