Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have become active in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions: the enemy is attempting to mine the area.

Several cases of infiltration by Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups, as well as attempts to plant mines, have been recorded in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

This was announced by the representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, on television.

According to him, Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are attempting to reconnoiter the Ukrainian defense structure and the location of Defense Forces positions. Under favorable conditions, they could also attack Ukrainian troops.

Demchenko added that during counter-sabotage operations, border guards regularly attempt to plant mines. While retreating, the Russians attempt to abandon the explosive devices so that Ukrainian defenders can blow themselves up on them.

Defense forces use drones to promptly identify sabotage groups. Border guards also receive preliminary intelligence on possible enemy infiltration attempts and conduct counter-sabotage operations.
