Two Russian Shahed attack drones violated Moldovan airspace twice in a day.
This was reported by the country’s Ministry of Defense, reports Newsmaker.md.
The first drone over Moldova was spotted late in the evening of March 30. It crossed the border near the village of Shipki, coming from the Odessa region. For a while, Moldova’s airspace was restricted.
The drone subsequently disappeared from radar. Experts are currently investigating whether the UAV left the country or crashed.
“The incident is a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova. This is unacceptable,” the defense ministry commented.
The Russian drone was spotted for the second time on the morning of March 31. At around 9:05 a.m., Ukraine warned the Moldovan air operations service about an unauthorized drone flight over Moldovan territory.
The drone was flying at an altitude of up to 500 meters. It is reported that at 09:13 it left the territory of Moldova, flying into Ukraine.
However, the Moldovan Ministry of Defense continues to monitor the situation in the airspace. Citizens are urged to remain calm and obtain information from official sources, and in case of detection of suspicious objects, to call law enforcement.
Recall that during one of the night attacks on Ukraine , a Russian drone flew into Moldova and crashed into a private house in the town of Cuhuresti de Jos.
