Russian shelling causes new power outages in four regions

As a result of further Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, as of the morning of July 31, new power outages were recorded in four regions.
This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo.
The department noted that due to Russian shelling, consumers in Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv regions were partially left without electricity. Emergency restoration work is already underway wherever the security situation allows.
At the same time, Ukrenergo noted that electricity consumption continues to grow. As of 09:30 on July 31, it was 2.6% higher than at the same time of day earlier. The main reason is the heat, which is causing Ukrainians to use air conditioners more actively.
Energy experts also reported that the maximum daily consumption on July 30 was recorded in the evening hours and remained at the level of the previous day.
In particular, the company urged citizens to use energy-intensive electrical appliances whenever possible during the most efficient operation of solar power plants — from 10:00 to 16:00 — in order to reduce the load on the power system.
