Russian soldier suspected of raping minor in Kherson region

Law enforcement officers have identified a Russian serviceman suspected of raping an underage girl in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. He was informed in absentia of suspicion of committing a war crime.

This was reported by the project “Book of Executioners of the Ukrainian People”.

According to the investigation, the suspect is a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces Mumadi Magomedov, call sign “Chorny”. At the time of the crime, he was a paramedic in the motorized rifle company of the 70th motorized rifle regiment of the 42nd motorized rifle division of the Russian Federation.

Investigators established that on the evening of March 24, 2024, Magomedov, together with another Russian serviceman, whose identity has not yet been established, kidnapped an underage girl in one of the occupied villages of the Kherson region.

According to law enforcement, the victim was forced to consume an unknown substance, after which she was sexually assaulted for several hours.

The National Police noted that the actions of the Russian military were qualified under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – cruel treatment of the civilian population and violation of the laws and customs of war.

Law enforcement officials emphasize that sexual violence during armed conflict is a war crime under international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

As a reminder, law enforcement officers reported in absentia suspicion to a former employee of the occupation police, who, together with Russian military personnel, tortured and sexually assaulted a resident of Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson region.
