Russian strike damages Shevchenko National University of Kyiv sports complex

In Kyiv, the building of the Sports Complex of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv was damaged as a result of a Russian attack. The facade glazing was broken, the cladding was torn off, and the interior was damaged.
This was announced by the acting rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Valeriy Kopiyka, on Facebook.
On the morning of September 17, Kopiyka addressed the university community and reported on the damage to the sports complex during the enemy shelling of Kyiv. According to him, the attack occurred on the evening of September 16.
As a result of the shelling, the glazing of the building’s facade was broken, the cladding was torn off, and the interior was damaged.
According to the acting rector, no one was injured. The facility is under security, and law enforcement officers have documented the damage.
Kopiyka noted that the university will begin eliminating the consequences of the attack in the near future.
According to the Kyiv State Emergency Service, the enemy strike damaged the facade and glazing of a four-story building of one of the higher educational institutions in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital. Rescuers also extinguished a minor fire on an area of 5 sq. m. There were no fatalities or injuries.
This is probably the Sports Complex of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, located on Academician Glushkov Avenue in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. The complex is used for physical education classes, sports sections, university competitions, and active recreation for students and teachers.
It was previously reported that on the night of Thursday, September 17, Russian occupation forces attacked Kyiv with missiles. Residential buildings, office buildings, and warehouses were damaged in several areas of the capital.
