During Russia’s recent massive attacks on energy infrastructure, the Donetsk region’s power grid suffered the greatest losses.

This was stated by Alina Bondarenko, CEO of DTEK Networks, during a speech at the Kyiv International Economic Forum.

“The Donetsk region is the worst. The scale of destruction there is colossal. We are currently working with Ukrenergo to restore what was destroyed,” Bondarenko said.

According to her, Kyiv residents were left without power during the October 10 attack, but power was restored within 24 hours. Between October 10 and 13, power workers also restored power in the Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

“Such attacks, unfortunately, will be repeated,” warned the head of DTEK Networks.

She also noted that preparations for the heating season were carried out with the support of European and American partners. The company completed three key areas of work: a repair program, an investment program, and the creation of an emergency reserve.

“We built energy storage facilities together with the American company Fluence for the heating season. But we’re looking for partners not only to develop storage systems but also to build them. We’ll complete work on the 500 MW Tiligulskaya Wind Farm in 2026,” Bondarenko added.

It’s worth noting that on the night of October 16, Russian troops attacked energy infrastructure in the Poltava region.Gas production facilities of DTEK Naftogaz came under enemy fire.

As a reminder, from 4:00 PM until the end of the day , power reduction schedules for industrial consumers may be introduced in all regions of Ukraine, covering two stages. This is due to high electricity consumption and the consequences of Russian shelling of energy infrastructure.

Incidentally, the cost of gas used for electricity generation is increasing in Ukraine —the government has approved new tariffs that will be in effect until the end of March 2026.

As we know, the heating season is about to begin. Russia has already destroyed 60% of Ukraine’s gas production thanks to large-scale attacks on facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
