The Russian occupiers plan to “reform” education in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. The invaders plan to liquidate over a hundred schools.
This was announced by the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Oleksiy Kharchenko.
“In the so-called “LPR”, the liquidation of educational institutions is underway, where, according to the Russians, there is an insufficient number of students. In total, more than 100 secondary education institutions have been subject to reform. One of the reasons for the reduction is the lack of funds to finance the educational sector,” Kharchenko noted.
The “Ministry of Education and Science of the LPR” named another reason for the “reform.” This is the demographic crisis in the Luhansk Oblast, which will last at least until 2028.
Oleksiy Kharchenko expressed the opinion that closed educational institutions are unlikely to reopen in three years.
Meanwhile, the shortage of personnel in the “LPR” is observed not only in the areas of administration, education, and medicine.
“For additional funds, they will try to invite 30 cultural workers to villages, towns and small towns where no one wants to work. They promise to announce the list of vacancies in the near future,” the head of the Luhansk Oblast Autonomous Region noted.
It was previously reported that a new wave of repressions is unfolding in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine against those who remain loyal to Ukrainian citizenship .
