Russian occupation forces have advanced to the outskirts of Myrnograd in the Pokrovsk sector of the Donetsk region, intensifying fighting in one of the key defensive areas of eastern Ukraine.
This was reported during a national telethon by Hryhoriy Shapoval, spokesman for the East Group of Forces.
“Unfortunately, the enemy has entered the outskirts of Myrnograd and is using not only artillery and drones, but also infantry and armored vehicles,” he said.
According to Shapoval, the situation in the city remains difficult, with street fighting underway.
Despite this, Ukrainian Defense Forces units are holding their positions and reinforcing fortifications. However, the intensity of urban combat is making it difficult to deploy certain types of weapons.
It was previously reported that the enemy is trying to bring the demarcation line closer to Pokrovsk and Myrnograd, conducting massive assaults.
Let us recall that in early autumn, the Russian command set a goal in the Donetsk region – to capture Pokrovsk, Myrnograd, and Dobropillya.
