Russian Tu-95 crashes after takeoff: there are fatalities

A military plane has crashed in Russia’s Amur Oblast. According to preliminary data, it was a Tu-95MS strategic bomber. Six people died in the crash, and another person was hospitalized.

The crash occurred at around 2:05 p.m. local time near the village of Krasnoyarovo, Mazanovsky District. According to preliminary information, the plane crashed shortly after takeoff.

A Russian Telegram channel that writes about Russian military aviation claims that a Tu-95MS crashed, and that three of its engines allegedly failed during takeoff. There is currently no official confirmation of this information.

According to Russian media, there were seven people on board. Initially, four people were reported dead, but two more servicemen died on the way to the hospital. One injured person was hospitalized.

After the crash, the plane caught fire and the fuel tanks exploded. The circumstances of the crash are being determined.
