Russians are increasing pressure in the Liman direction – Syrsky

Russian troops have stepped up offensive operations in the north of Donetsk Oblast, in particular in the Liman direction.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, following a working visit to units at the front.

“The hottest areas remain Pokrovskoe, Dobropolskoe and Novopavlovskoe. The enemy is also increasing pressure in the north of Donbass, in the Liman direction,” he noted.

According to Syrsky, Ukrainian soldiers are waging difficult defensive battles against superior enemy forces, holding back assaults and sometimes carrying out active counter-actions.

The Commander-in-Chief spoke with the brigade and corps commanders, receiving detailed information about the situation at the front and command levels. Based on this data, a decision was made to strengthen the stability of the defense.

“The Armed Forces are conscious of their great mission and are capable of continuing to carry out their assigned tasks. We are defending and liberating Ukrainian territory. The units in Donetsk Oblast are receiving comprehensive assistance and reinforcement for this purpose,” Syrsky emphasized.

He thanked the Ukrainian soldiers who, despite difficult conditions, maintain their spirit, hold the line and destroy the enemy.

Let us recall that information about an alleged breakthrough of the troops of the aggressor country Russia in the Pokrovsky direction has recently started to spread on the Internet. According to the military, these rumors do not correspond to reality and “do not reflect the real facts.”

The Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized that the situation, although tense, is under control. In support of the defense, the 1st operational corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” was transferred here, which has already taken certain positions and is blocking the enemy’s attempts to advance.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian infidels were advancing in the areas of Kucherev Yar, Zolotoy Kolodets and Maiskoye. The operational command “Dnepr” reported that the enemy’s infiltration in the Dobropolsky and Pokrovsky directions does not mean the seizure or control of the territory.

Meanwhile, in the frontline town of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, the situation remains critical : the city is effectively cut off from external communications, is constantly under fire, and it is impossible to deliver humanitarian or medical aid there.
