The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, stated that the Russians are preparing a “crazy wave” of information attacks.
He said this during the international forum “Information Warfare: From Resistance to Resilience.”
According to him, this will take place on September 12, against the backdrop of the joint military exercises “West-2025” between Russia and Belarus.
“As far as I remember, it was September 12. There will be just a crazy wave of information escalation. The allegations will come from absolutely all sides,” Budanov noted.
In particular, with the beginning of the active phase of the exercises, the Baltic countries will come under information pressure. Attacks will be accompanied by insinuations and provocations.
The head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense explained that about 90% of attacks will come from Russia, and 10% from others.
Budanov emphasized that such military exercises, after the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, are perceived as something “more than military maneuvers.”
At the same time, he added that “West-2025” in the military and military-political sphere aims to practice maneuvers in the western direction of the theater of military operations.
It was previously reported that the first Russian troops are already in Belarus , they will take part in joint exercises, the active phase of which is scheduled for September.
It is worth noting that as part of joint military exercises between Minsk and Moscow , the Russians transferred echelons of equipment to Belarus .
By the way, according to Lithuanian intelligence, up to 30 thousand soldiers will take part in the joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus “West-2025” .
