Russians are pulling forces to Mirnograd: what’s happening on the front now

Russian troops are increasing pressure on the Donetsk region and are trying to surround Myrnograd. They are moving towards the settlements of Rivne and Svitle, trying to get to the city’s rear.

This was reported by the press service of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Ukrainian military officials say the Russians are trying to cut off the land route between Myrnograd and Pokrovsk. Paratroopers are holding back the enemy in the Krasny Liman area and preventing them from advancing further.

Russian assault groups are attacking the north of Myrnograd in small infantry groups, moving continuously and adjusting their actions with drones. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are strengthening the city’s defenses, especially on the southern outskirts, where the enemy is accumulating manpower for new attacks.

In the northeast of the city, soldiers from the 38th Marine Brigade captured four Russians who were trying to break through the defenses. Three of them are former prisoners who signed contracts with the military.

The prisoners said that before the assault they had been held in the basement of a nearby settlement for four days without food or water. After their detention, Ukrainian defenders provided them with the necessary assistance, adhering to the norms of international humanitarian law.

It was previously reported that Ukrainian fighters are maintaining their positions in the center of Pokrovsk and have cleared the areas of the railway station, the pedagogical college, and Sobornyi square of the enemy .

Recall that Russia continues to lose ground in the global arms market, as evidenced by a sharp drop in export volumes from 2021 to 2024.
