Russians are restoring infrastructure at Donetsk airport

The Russians have probably begun work to restore infrastructure at the Donetsk airport.

This was reported in the Military Journal.

It is assumed that construction work began in early July. In particular, published satellite images have recorded some changes.

As noted, during the work, fortifications that passed through the runway were buried.

Construction has also begun on the site of abandoned parking lots, which may indicate preparations for the installation of fuel tanks.

“Probable construction work is underway on the territory of the METRO Cash and Carry hypermarket No. 24. However, it is unknown whether it is simply restoration or the construction of a military facility,” the channel’s authors added.

In addition, it is noted that there is unconfirmed information about the launches of Russian strike drones from the territory of Donetsk airport.

Recall that the battles for Donetsk airport were one of the fiercest in the war in eastern Ukraine , lasting from May 2014 to January 20, 2015.
