The Center for Countering Disinformation has refuted a fake story by Russian Telegram channels that spread a post with “testimony” from a resident of Pokrovsk about alleged war crimes by Ukrainian military personnel.

This is what the CPD is talking about on social media.

Hostile publics are releasing a video on behalf of the so-called “international public tribunal for the crimes of Ukrainian neo-Nazis.”

“In fact, this is another staged fake. The mentioned tribunal is an artificially created structure by Russia, designed to create the appearance of legitimacy for propaganda accusations against Ukraine,” the Center explained.

In particular, in one of the posts, a resident of Pokrovsk allegedly gave “testimony” about the shooting of civilians by Ukrainian soldiers in November 2024.

As the CPR emphasized, there is no independent confirmation, evidence, or witnesses to these events.

The Center for Countering Disinformation is convinced that the goal of Russian fakes is to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the international arena, create the illusion of documenting “crimes,” and also justify their illegal actions under the guise of “justice.”
