The Russians are transferring their assault groups to the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region to intensify attacks and take control of the island zone.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, during the telethon.

In particular, in the direction of the Antonivka railway and automobile bridges, the enemy conducts assault operations almost daily.

According to Voloshyn, the occupiers are concentrating assault groups in the settlement of Dachi, on the road from Oleshki to Antonivskyi Bridge. However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding their positions.

Instead, the Russians seek to capture this area, because it is the narrowest place on the Dnieper River, and the banks are 700-800 meters away.

As the spokesman explained, by displacing Ukrainian soldiers from their positions, the Russian army will be able to place certain types of weapons and drone launch sites there. This will allow it to continue to strike at the Right Bank, as well as keep the large Dnieper riverbed under control.

“The enemy is trying with all his might to carry out assault operations here and take control of these positions of ours. But he is not succeeding,” Voloshyn concluded.

It was previously reported that Russian troops are allegedly preparing to land in the Korabelny district of Kherson with the aim of recapturing the city. However, the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine consider this possibility unlikely.
