Russians are trying to break through to the administrative border of Dnepropetrovsk region – Tregubov

Russian troops continue to attempt to break through and consolidate their positions in the Novopavlovsk direction in order to reach the administrative border of the Dnepropetrovsk region.

This was stated on television by the spokesman for the operational-strategic group of forces “Dnepr” Viktor Tregubov.

“In the Novopavlovsk (direction – ed.) attempts by Russians to enter and gain a foothold in the Dnepropetrovsk region are still present, and there too, unfortunately, not everything is so simple,” Tregubov said.

He explained that in this direction the Russians are also using the tactics of small infantry groups.

“It’s more effective. There’s no point in attacking in large groups, and the tactics of rapid movement were not very effective when they (the Russians – ed.) used light equipment. It’s summer now, there’s a lot of greenery, so the infantry is coming,” added Tregubov.

Let us recall that earlier the General Staff reported that the enemy has currently attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 49 times .

Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied information about a breakthrough of Russian troops in the Pokrovsk direction , emphasizing that the situation, although tense, is under control. In support of the defense, the 1st operational corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” was transferred here, which has already taken certain positions and is blocking the enemy’s attempts to advance.

It is worth adding that Russian occupation forces have amassed a large number of personnel between three cities in the Donetsk region – Pokrovskoe, Dobropolye and Konstantinovka.
