Russians are trying to create a “buffer zone” in the Dnipropetrovsk region: Syrsky spoke about the situation on the front

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Russian troops are continuing offensive operations and seeking to create a “buffer zone” in the Dnipropetrovsk region. At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are conducting active defense and inflicting losses on the enemy.

According to Syrsky, the offensive actions of the Defense Forces in the Oleksandrivka direction have been ongoing since the end of January. As part of this operation , the Ukrainian military has regained control over 480 sq. km of territory , eight settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and four in the Zaporizhia region.
At the same time, the enemy continues to attack in this direction. In particular, hostilities are recorded in the areas of the following settlements: Ternove, Oleksandrograd, Ivanivka, Zeleny Hai, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Sichneve.
And also in the directions of Sosnivka, Verbovye, and Zlagoda. In total, 64 enemy attacks were recorded in this direction over the past week.
Russian troops are not abandoning further offensive actions and are regrouping forces and assets.
“The goal of the invaders, despite significant losses in personnel and military equipment, is to seize more Ukrainian territory and create a “buffer zone” in the Dnipropetrovsk region,” said Oleksandr Syrsky.
At the same time, according to him, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are consistently conducting active defense, inflicting fire damage on the enemy and destroying its personnel, weapons, and military equipment.
It was previously reported that Russian occupation forces are trying to create a 20-kilometer “buffer zone” along the border in Sumy and Kharkiv regions , capturing border villages.
