Russians attacked Chernihiv region with kamikaze drones: there are injuries and significant damage

Over the past day, Russian troops have launched massive strikes on the Chernihiv region, primarily targeting energy facilities. The attacks have left about 100 settlements without power and have caused damage to civilian infrastructure.

According to the regional military administration, hits by “Geranium” type strike drones were recorded in Kholmynska, Novgorod-Siverska, Menska, and Koryukivska communities. The most difficult situation is in the northern communities of the region, where emergency work is ongoing.

“There were many strikes on the Chernihiv region in the past day. The main target is our energy facilities,” said the head of the Chernihiv Oblast Defense Department, Vyacheslav Chaus.

In the city of Mena, a drone hit one of the enterprises. A fire broke out at the site of the impact, and the relevant services were working.

Also during the day, a drone attacked a cultural center in Snovsk. The building’s roof, windows, doors, and a hall where children were doing sports were damaged. A 45-year-old woman was injured in the attack and is currently under medical supervision.

The regional military administration reported that 48 attacks and 91 explosions were recorded over the past 24 hours alone. Separately, it is noted that during the week, the defense forces destroyed 222 attack drones over the territory of the region.

“During the week in the Chernihiv region, the defenders destroyed 222 attack drones. Thank you to the defenders who are closing the sky,” said Vyacheslav Chaus.

By the way, on the night of January 19, as a result of a Russian attack in Odessa, the DTEK Odessa Electric Grids energy facility suffered significant damage.
