Russians attacked Slavutych: the city was left without power.

On Wednesday, October 1, the Russian army attacked energy infrastructure in Slavutych, Kyiv Oblast. The attack damaged a 330 kV substation, cutting off power to the town.

This was reported by the mayor of Slavutych, Yuriy Fomichev.

According to him, emergency services and firefighters are working at the scene, dealing with the aftermath of the shelling.

“We’ve hit substation 330. The city is without power. The consequences are being determined. We’re trying to switch to other sources. The water utility’s reserve will allow us to supply water hourly. We’re setting up emergency stations where people can charge their phones and cook,” he said.

Power outages were also reported in some communities in the Chernihiv region. Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Police Department, noted that the outage was caused by a power failure in the neighboring Kyiv region.

“The relevant services are working on restoration,” Chaus emphasized.
