In Ukraine, the use of Russian drones of the “Shahed” type for mine-dropping has been recorded. One drone can drop up to 8 mines at a time, which creates an additional threat to the population.
This was announced by Advisor to the Minister of Defense, Sergey “Flash” Beskrestnov.
According to Sergei Beskrestnov, the mines are placed in special round containers under the wings of drones. They are dropped to increase the damage.
He noted that such incidents occur regularly.
“Every day, mines are dropped from some of the Shahed drones,” said Sergey Beskrestnov.
He also clarified that one drone can carry up to 8 mines, which remain on the ground after being dropped.
“It is strictly forbidden to approach them on foot or by car,” stressed Serhiy Beskrestnov.
According to him, such shells are clearly visible on the ground, but pose a danger to people.
Separately, he called for informing children about the risks associated with such finds in order to avoid dangerous situations.
It was previously reported that the Russian army began using Shahed kamikaze drones as carriers for FPV drones.
By the way, the Russian occupation forces treat their drones with toxic substances before launching, in particular the “Shahedas”.
Recall that the Russian troops first used a Shahed drone equipped with a portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS) . This creates a new threat to Ukrainian aviation and requires increased caution during flights.
