Russians blocked in Kupyansk are trying to resist: what is happening in the city
The defense forces are conducting an operation to liberate Kupyansk – active fighting is ongoing in the city, as Russian troops, who remain blocked, are trying to resist.
This was stated by Igor Raikov, head of the unmanned systems service of the 13th National Guard “Charter” brigade, on the air of “Armia TV”, RBC-Ukraine reports .
The military stressed that the operation to de-occupy Kupyansk was not sudden, but began a few months ago – in September.
According to Raykov, the Defense Forces have formed a search and strike group that neutralizes Russian occupiers in the Kharkiv region.
In general, this process consisted of two stages – cutting off the enemy’s logistics and encirclement in Kupyansk, as well as localizing the Russians in the city, conducting stabilization measures, and mopping up.
Currently, the Russian army can only carry out logistics by air using drones. The occupiers are trying to create a land corridor, but their attempts are proving fruitless.
“They even tried to move through the famous pipe. The pipe was blocked under constant fire control and reconnaissance, accordingly, any such attempt by the enemy cannot succeed at this time. And this makes it possible to carry out actions in the city itself,” added Raikov.
As is known, Ukrainian units are continuing to liberate Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, where active fighting has already moved to the central part of the city.
By the way, according to preliminary intelligence estimates, as of the end of last week, there were 40 active call signs in the radios – about 100-200 military personnel.
We remind you that the activity of Russian troops in Kupyansk has decreased , however, the intensity of operations in the Kharkiv region remains high – the enemy is trying to advance in the South-Slobozhansk direction.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian Defense Forces cut off Russian troops from supplies in Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, so they tried to advance by bypassing the city from the sides.
