Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Maciej Wewior said that the Polish consulate was damaged as a result of the Russian attack on Odessa.
He wrote about this on the social network X.
“Another night of Russian terror. The Polish consulate in Odessa was damaged as a result of nighttime bombing,” the report says.
He added that no diplomatic staff member was injured during the shelling.
Currently, the consulate in Odessa continues to operate, as Jacek Gotzlowski, Consul General of the Republic of Poland, told Suspilny in a comment. He assured that the Russian attack will not affect his work.
At the same time, according to the official, there is damage. However, the extent of the damage has not yet been determined.
“We will now check and assess the damage. It is great happiness, my team is safe, no one was injured,” Gotslovsky emphasized.
Recall that recently, during a night attack, the Russian Federation damaged the Qatari embassy . President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the international community, primarily the United States, to give a decisive and unambiguous response to Russia’s large-scale night attack on Ukraine.
