Russians hit a high-rise building in Kharkiv: there are dead and dozens injured

Russian troops launched strikes on the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv this morning, hitting, in particular, a multi-storey residential building. The number of injured people has increased to 37, and 3 deaths are also known.

According to Sinegubov, one of the strikes destroyed floors 7-10 of an apartment building. Initially, it was reported that two men, aged 50 and 66, were killed and at least 21 injured.

Among the victims was a 5-year-old boy. 11 people received explosive injuries, 2 were poisoned by carbon monoxide, and 8 more people, including a child, suffered an acute stress reaction. At that time, 4 victims were hospitalized, the rest were provided with medical assistance on the spot. Sinegubov noted that search and rescue operations were ongoing.

Later, the head of the Kharkiv OVA reported that the number of injured people had increased to 23. 5 injured people were in hospitals, including one woman in serious condition.

Later, according to Sinegubov, the number of victims increased to 27 people. Two more people with stab wounds and two with acute stress reactions sought medical help.

At the same time, Igor Terekhov reported that people were trapped in the building. A rescue operation was launched at the scene.

The mayor also announced a second strike on the Saltivskyi district. According to him, Russian troops hit a nearby high-rise building. He urged residents to be careful and take cover. In addition, Terekhov reported a third location of the strike — one of the parks in the Saltivskyi district.

The mayor of Kharkiv later reported that the number of people injured in the morning shelling had increased to 37. He also announced another death.

According to the State Emergency Service, after Russian strikes on a residential neighborhood in the Saltivskyi district, rescuers rescued 7 people from the upper floors of a high-rise building.

One of the hits destroyed the ceiling between the 7th and 10th floors of a 10-story apartment building. A fire also broke out. At another address, the Russian strike hit a 3-story warehouse, where a fire broke out after the hit.

The State Emergency Service reported that all fire sources had been eliminated. Emergency and rescue operations continued at the scene, and State Emergency Service psychologists provided assistance to the victims.

Rescuers also continued to dismantle the collapsed floors to make sure there were no people left under them. After the search and rescue operations are completed, experts must determine the extent of the damage to the building, its condition, and the possibility of further operation.

All specialized services are working at the scene of the attack in an intensified mode.

It is worth adding that the Air Defense Forces neutralized 174 drones and five “Banderol” loitering munitions , with which the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine since the evening of August 8.
