Russians hit SOCAR oil terminal in Odessa with drones

On the night of August 18, Russian occupiers launched a drone strike on the oil terminals of the state-owned Azerbaijani company SOCAR. A large-scale fire broke out at the site of the strike.

This was reported by the Odessa Regional State Emergency Service and the head of the Odessa Regional Emergency Management Agency , Oleg Kiper .

“Despite the active work of the air defense forces, there are consequences of the strike in the Odessa district. In the suburbs of Odessa, a fire broke out at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility and a two-story building. Our rescuers quickly extinguished the powerful fire,” the head of the Odesa OVA wrote.

There has been no information about the dead or injured at this time.

The media reported that ten Russian drones hit a SOCAR oil terminal.

“More than 100 rescuers, volunteers, firefighters from the National Guard of Ukraine and local fire brigades eliminated the consequences of the enemy attack. A fire robot and a fire train of Ukrzaliznytsia were also involved,” the State Emergency Service reported.

Earlier it became known that Odessa, Izmail, Kiliya, Vylkove, Chornomorsk and 119 other settlements in the Odessa region officially received the status of territories where hostilities are underway .
