Russians massively attacked Kyiv: many victims and wounded, people are being searched under the rubble

On the night of Tuesday, June 17, the Russian occupation army launched a massive combined strike on Kyiv. The attack killed 14 people and injured more than 50 others.

This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

He noted that 7 locations in different districts of the capital came under enemy fire that night. Among them were residential buildings, educational institutions, and critical infrastructure facilities.

According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, the occupiers struck a nine-story building in the Solomianskyi district of the capital, destroying the entire entrance to the high-rise building. Rescuers are currently searching for people under the rubble.

“Horrible crimes of a terrorist country against civilians in Kyiv. In the Solomyanskyi district, two residential buildings were damaged. A fire broke out in a 5-story building. 18 victims are known,” he reported.

According to Tkachenko, 12 wounded received first aid on the spot. Six victims required hospitalization. By morning, the fire at the scene of the hits was contained. Firefighters and medics continue to work.

“At the second location, an enemy strike caused the destruction of the structures of a residential high-rise building. The humanitarian headquarters is deployed at 9a Akademika Shalimova Street (school No. 67). Rescuers are clearing the rubble and searching for people,” he added.

Later, the city’s mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, reported that the death toll had increased.

“The number of victims in the capital is increasing. There are currently 55 of them. More than 40 people have been taken to the city’s medical facilities,” the post says.

One person, a 62-year-old US citizen, died in a house near the scene of the attack, said Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

“As a result of the massive enemy attack in the capital, more than 40 people were injured. More than 30 of them were hospitalized. One man, a US citizen, died during the attack. In the Solomyansky district, the entrance to a residential building was destroyed. Rescuers are currently working there, clearing the rubble. Emergency services continue to work on the ground and in several other districts of the capital,” he said.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, said that data on the victims will be clarified.

In the Dnipro district, a fragment of a shaheed was stuck in the wall of a residential building. According to Klitschko, there is a victim. In the Obolon district, a car was damaged.

A kindergarten was damaged in Darnytskyi district, and an industrial area was damaged in Dniprovskyi district.

A fire also broke out in a non-residential building in Solomyanskyi district. Warehouses are on fire in Svyatoshynskyi district.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire broke out on the upper floors of a residential building.

As a reminder, on Monday, June 16, Russian troops carried out an air strike on the residential quarter of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region.

As reported, Russian occupiers fired on a civilian car in the village of Bilozerka in the Kherson region. A 42-year-old man was injured in the attack.
