Russians massively shelled Zaporizhia and the region: there are dead and wounded, rescuers came under attack
On the night of August 31, Russian troops attacked a fire and rescue unit in a settlement in Zaporizhia Oblast with a drone. Two people were killed and three more civilians were injured as a result of the shelling of the region.
This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.
The attack damaged the roof, windows, and doors of the fire and rescue unit building. A fire truck and a passenger car were also damaged.
At the time of the impact, the personnel were in shelter. There were no injuries among the rescuers.
At the same time, the head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA Ivan Fedorov reported that during the day the occupiers launched 923 strikes on 51 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.
“Two people were killed and three more were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhia and the Zaporizhia district,” the report said.
It is noted that the Russian troops carried out:
- 20 airstrikes;
- 4 shellings with MLRS;
- 240 artillery strikes:
- 659 UAV attacks of various modifications (mostly FPV).
In total, 43 reports of damage to homes, cars, and infrastructure were received within 24 hours.
By the way, on the morning of August 31, Russian troops launched a FAB-500 airstrike on Sloviansk, Donetsk region . The strike destroyed the entrance to a high-rise building, damaged at least 32 high-rise buildings, and injured 4 people.
