Russians plan to use pipes to advance in Zaporizhia — Voloshyn

Russian occupation forces plan to use gas pipes to conduct offensive operations in the Orikhiv direction in the Zaporizhia region.

This was stated in a comment to RBC-Ukraine by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

He noted that currently, in the temporarily occupied territories, the Russian military is practicing the skills of advancing through pipes.

Using pipe models with various elements, the enemy practices advancing deep into the area and transferring logistics along the gas pipeline.

“The Russians are preparing to repeat what they did in Kupyansk and Avdiivka,” Voloshyn said.

Among other things, the spokesman believes, the preparations indicate the enemy’s plans to step up in the Orikhov direction — to transfer units to forward positions near Orikhov.

“One of the tasks of their command is to get as close as possible to Orekhov, enter there and try to gain a foothold in its vicinity,” he explained.

Instead, the Defense Forces are preventing Russian troops from bringing their assault groups to the front lines.

Earlier, Russian troops intensified offensive operations in the south , focusing their efforts on attempts to take control of the city of Stepnohirsk, which is of strategic importance for further attacks on Zaporizhia and its surroundings.

As a reminder, the Orikhiv direction in the Zaporizhia region remains quite active, where the Russian army is trying to break through the Ukrainian defenses .
