Azovstal defender in Mariupol, Svyatoslav “Kalyna” Palamar, said that the Russians were preparing to execute Ukrainian soldiers on Independence Day.
He said this in an interview with Dmytro Gordon.
When asked by a journalist whether the soldier felt that he could be executed under the laws of the “DPR,” he replied that “there was such a feeling.”
According to him, the exchange for Medvedchuk was the only opportunity to escape Russian captivity. Otherwise, Kalina, Radish, and several other commanders were to be executed on August 24.
“Now I understand why we left. Because we had no other chance. And the Russians’ appetites appeared after the Olenivka terrorist attack. There they tasted blood — the blood of not civilians, not military, but prisoners,” the fighter noted.
We remind you that on September 21, 2022 , as a result of the exchange of prisoners from Russian captivity, a total of 215 defenders of Ukraine were returned , among them were Denys Prokopenko, Svyatoslav Palamar, Serhiy Volynskyi, Oleh Khomenko, and Denys Shlega.
