Russians shelled a high-rise building in Kyiv: there is destruction and injuries, including a two-year-old child
On the night of July 28, Kyiv was once again the target of a Russian attack. In the Darnytskyi district, a drone strike injured five residents of a high-rise building, including a two-year-old girl with a wounded leg. The blast wave shattered windows from floors 6 to 11, and several cars were damaged.
This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko.
“In the Darnytskyi district, as a result of a hostile attack, 5 people were injured. One of them is a child. Four of the injured were hospitalized by doctors. All of them are residents of a multi-story residential building. All services are working on the spot,” he said.
At the same time, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, provided clarification.
“According to preliminary data, in the Darnytskyi district, windows in a high-rise building were damaged as a result of an enemy attack. As of now, there are eight victims , including a 3-year-old child with shrapnel wounds. One person is in serious condition. Four people have been hospitalized. Several cars were also damaged, but no fires,” the report said.
The National Police also confirmed that the shock wave damaged the glazing on the 6th to 11th floors of the multi-story building.
“Five people received shrapnel wounds. Among them is a two-year-old girl with cuts on her feet. The victims were hospitalized. Several cars parked near the house were damaged. Police and explosives investigation teams are working at the scene. We are recording another war crime by the aggressor,” the department said.
Currently, rescuers, police, and utility services are working quickly in the affected area. The house is being inspected and material damage is being recorded.
The authorities are urging residents of the capital not to ignore air raid sirens and, if possible, to hide in shelters or safe rooms without windows.
