Russians strike Kharkiv: dozens injured and extensive destruction
On the night of November 19, Russian troops carried out a massive drone attack on Kharkiv, which injured more than three dozen civilians, including two children.
According to information released by the Kharkiv OVA and the regional police, the strikes hit the Slobidsky and Osnovyansky districts. The first reports of the wounded came at around 1 am: at that time, doctors were providing assistance to 11 people, including a 13-year-old girl with an acute stress reaction.
Over the next few hours, the number of injured people rapidly increased — first to 20, then to 22, and by around 2 a.m., it was reported that 32 people had been injured. Later, law enforcement officials clarified that a total of 36 city residents had sought help. Among them were two children, ages 9 and 13, both in a state of severe stress.
The attack caused significant destruction. According to preliminary data, at least 11 strike drones hit the city, which led to the destruction and damage of civilian infrastructure. More than ten high-rise buildings, garages, private enterprise premises, a school, a supermarket, a sports hall, trolleybuses and dozens of cars were damaged. A fire broke out in one of the nine-story buildings after the hit, and garages were also burning. There is preliminary information about the strike near a medical facility.
Rescuers, police officers, and medics are working at the sites of the shelling. The Investigative Department of the National Police has deployed an operational headquarters where citizens can contact them regarding damaged or destroyed property. Law enforcement officers have opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the laws and customs of war.
As a reminder, Russian occupiers shelled the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson , and as a result of the attack, an elderly woman was seriously injured.
