Russians transfer assault groups to advanced positions in Zaporizhia region: they seek to penetrate the rear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Occupation troops are trying to infiltrate and gain a foothold in the suburbs of Stepnohirsk in the Zaporizhia region.

This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

In particular, the enemy is constantly trying to conduct infiltration operations in the front lines near Plavni, Primorske, and Kamiansky. In this way, the Russians are trying to penetrate the rear and gain a foothold in positions in Stepnohirsk.

There, the enemy wants to take control of a high-rise building so as not to use the destroyed buildings for defense.

Instead, units of the Defense Forces detect enemy sabotage groups and destroy them.

“Sometimes there are ongoing battles with these groups, we destroy them and do not let them enter Stepnohirsk, we do not let them enter our rear,” Voloshyn explained.

In addition, the occupiers are moving assault groups to forward positions for further attacks. According to the spokesman, despite the fact that the Russian army has not managed to dislodge the Ukrainian military from their positions, it is still trying to advance closer.

As a reminder, the Russian army is increasing pressure in the Zaporizhia direction . The occupiers are massively attacking buildings in Malaya Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and neighboring villages, trying to destroy fortifications before the next assaults.

As is known, Russian troops have intensified offensive operations in the southern direction , trying to establish control over Stepnohirsk, a city of strategic importance for further attacks on Zaporizhia and surrounding areas.
