Russians’ level of trust in Vladimir Putin has dropped to its lowest level since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine.

This is reported by Bloomberg.

According to a survey by the VTsIOM center, the share of those who trust Putin decreased from 76.7% to 75% in a week, and the level of approval of his activities decreased from 72% to 70.1%.

Although these figures remain high, they are the lowest values for the Russian system since February 2022.

At the same time, the share of those who do not trust Putin has increased to 20.1%, and the level of disapproval of his work has increased to 18.3%. These are the highest figures during the war.

Bloomberg notes that the dynamics of change are more telling than the numbers themselves, given the nature of the political system in Russia.

Amid economic problems and increasing restrictions on the Internet, public sentiment is gradually changing.

“Public fatigue is the reason for the stagnation of ratings. In practice, everyone is just surviving,” Russian political analyst Andrey Kolesnikov commented on the situation.

A separate Levada Center poll also showed that 67% of Russians support the idea of peace talks.
