A fake video is being distributed on TikTok in which a man in military uniform poses as a Ukrainian serviceman and claims to have suffered “massive non-combat casualties” in the unit.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.

According to the Central Intelligence Agency, the video is artificially generated and is part of Russia’s information and psychological operations against Ukraine.

Experts have identified characteristic signs of the use of artificial intelligence: unnatural facial expressions, unclear articulation, lip movements out of sync with sound, and specific “digital” voice intonations.

The Central Military Commission emphasizes that such materials are intended to demoralize the Ukrainian military and create a false impression of alleged massive problems in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular in border areas.

The Center also notes that Russian propaganda systematically uses the topic of “disease in the Armed Forces of Ukraine” as one of the tools of information pressure.

Similar fakes have been recorded many times before – the enemy regularly spreads fictional “testimonies of military personnel” created using artificial intelligence technologies on social networks.

It has previously been reported that Russia is using deception and manipulation to recruit residents of temporarily occupied Crimea into its army. People are promised safe service close to home, but in reality, things are different.

Let us remind you that Russian propaganda is once again spreading disinformation about the alleged existence of so-called “death factories” in Ukraine for holding prisoners of war.
