The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, reported on the intention of the Russian occupation troops to create a buffer zone in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

He said this in an interview with Bloomberg.

According to Budanov, to do this, the enemy wants to advance 10 kilometers deep into the region.

He emphasized that Russian troops have a “political goal to declare that they have entered” the Dnipropetrovsk region.

However, as the head of the GUR assured, despite the wishes of the occupiers, Russia’s capture of the entire Donetsk region this year is unrealistic.

As a reminder, Russian occupation troops continue to advance in the Donetsk region , in particular, the enemy has occupied two settlements near the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Previously, analysts from the DeepState project, for the first time during Russia’s war against Ukraine, designated the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region as a “gray zone.”
