Gasoline production in Russia has fallen to a level that covers about 65% of seasonal demand after Ukrainian attacks on oil refining infrastructure. Due to fuel shortages, Russian authorities are taking measures to stabilize supplies and increasing imports.

This is reported by Reuters .

According to two industry sources and estimates, Ukrainian drone strikes have shut down a number of major oil refineries in Russia. In particular, the NORSI refinery, Omsk and Saratov refineries have all been shut down.

According to sources, the daily deficit in gasoline production is between 40,000 and 45,000 tons, or about 35% of seasonal demand. In June, this figure was estimated at 25%. At the same time, daily demand for gasoline in Russia during the summer peak consumption period is between 115,000 and 120,000 tons.

To address the shortage, Russian authorities are considering banning the export of diesel, gasoline and jet fuel. Russia has also increased fuel imports. In June, gasoline and diesel supplies from Belarus reached a record monthly level, and seaborne deliveries from India began.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that the fuel supply situation remains difficult. “It is obvious that the current situation at gas stations is causing concern among the population,” said Alexander Novak.

It is noted that queues have formed at gas stations in some regions of Russia. According to sources, the situation may improve in the second half of July, provided that there are no new strikes on oil refineries and their work is resumed, as well as an increase in fuel imports.

It is worth adding that Russia has imposed a complete ban on the export of diesel fuel and plans to begin importing petroleum products from July.

It was previously reported that on the night of July 8, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of strategic facilities on Russian territory , including two oil refineries, six tankers of the shadow fleet, a military airfield and transport bridges. Also, afterthe attack by Ukrainian drones, the Omsk Oil Refinery stopped working .
