Russia’s newest multi-purpose UAV “Altair” crashed in Tatarstan during exercises

In the Kazan region, during a test flight, the latest Russian reconnaissance and strike UAV “Altair” crashed into a house.

This was reported on the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind”.

According to the press service of the head of Tatarstan, the incident occurred on July 8 at 9:10 a.m. during a test of a “civilian aircraft.” During a training flight, the aircraft lost control and crashed into a house where a pensioner lived.

Russian media reported that the drone crashed because “navigation was disrupted by unidentified electronic warfare devices.”

The Altair UAV is known to be capable of carrying cargo weighing up to five tons. Its development began in 2011 and was accompanied by corruption scandals.

It was previously reported that on the night of July 7 , the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian ammunition production plant located in the Moscow region .
