The Security Service of Ukraine’s Alpha Special Operations Center inflicted losses on key elements of Russia’s echeloned air defense system in 2025, destroying and disabling air defense assets. The total cost of the enemy’s air defense assets hit is estimated at approximately $4 billion.
This was reportedby the press service of the SBU.
Long-range strikes by special forces of the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center are causing losses to key elements of Russia’s air defense, in particular air defense systems and radars. According to the SBU, the total cost of destroyed and disabled Russian air defense assets in 2025 is estimated at approximately $4 billion.
The destruction of systems has been recorded:
- S-300, S-350, S-400;
- anti-aircraft missile systems “Buk-M1/M2”;
- anti-aircraft missile and gun complexes “Pantsir-S1/S2”;
- anti-aircraft missile systems “Tor-M1/M2/M3”.
In addition, Russian radar reconnaissance and guidance equipment suffered serious losses. The report states that among the affected radar stations and radars are those that are critically important for detecting air targets and air defense operations.
Among the radar facilities mentioned:
- Radar 55Zh6U “Nebo-U/ Nebo-M”;
- Radar “Podlyot”;
- Radar “Nioby”;
- Radar “Kasta-2E2”;
- Radar “Gamma-D”;
- Protivnyk-GE radar;
- radar equipment from the Buk air defense system, S-300/S-400;
- radar 92N6 and others.
The report also notes that this work had a systemic effect: corridors in Russia’s multi-layered air defense were breached. This, according to the SBU, provided safe passages for Ukrainian long-range drones deep behind enemy lines through military bases, warehouses, airfields, and other military facilities.
By the way, on the night of Wednesday, January 14, the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don was attacked by drones , which resulted in fires at an industrial facility.
It was previously reported that in Taganrog, Russia, on the morning of January 13, drones attacked an industrial facility, after which a fire broke out in the city.
As a reminder, the UK plans to develop new Nightfall ballistic missiles for Ukraine with warheads weighing 200 kilograms. The range of these missiles allows them to hit Russian targets at a distance of more than 300 miles, including in the Moscow area.
