Fifth President Petro Poroshenko has called on Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Mudra to stop interfering in the trial of his lawsuit against Volodymyr Zelensky. The case on lifting sanctions was again not considered by the Supreme Court due to the sudden cancellation of the session.

Politician and former military officer Volodymyr Omelyan commented on this situation, pointing to systemic pressure from the authorities.

“In this particular case, they are under unprecedented pressure from Bankova. And we need to talk about this openly. What the Deputy Head of the Office, Ms. Mudra, allows herself, she goes beyond all limits. And in fact, this is a return to the ways of the Yanukovych era,” the studio guest noted.

Omelyan expressed concern that the current leadership is choosing the path of restricting the opposition, which is harmful to the state. In his opinion, the concentration of former supporters of the Regionals in government offices today is higher than ever before.

At the same time, despite the constant postponements of sessions that have been going on since April of last year, he believes that the law will ultimately prevail. Omelyan added that such attempts at political repression always turn out to be unsuccessful.

As is known, Petro Poroshenko is challenging Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decree on illegal sanctions in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court also attached to the case file the ECHR decision of October 16, 2025. The European Court of Human Rights concluded that there are systemic problems in the Ukrainian sanctions system, in particular, the lack of proper judicial control over the authorities’ sanctions decisions and justification for the reasons for imposing sanctions, even in conditions of war and under the slogan of national security.

On April 3, the fifth president, Petro Poroshenko, said that the deputy head of the Presidential Office, Iryna Mudra, was behind the disruption of the Supreme Court session, which was supposed to announce a decision on the lifting of illegal sanctions. He noted that this trial, according to the law, should have lasted only two months. Instead, the authorities have dragged it out for more than a year.

Earlier, President Zelensky’s representative in the Supreme Court admitted that the signed Decree on the implementation of the NSDC decision on sanctions against Poroshenko had been amended, which she called “technical amendments.” Government representatives also stated that the sanctions against Poroshenko were introduced preventively, “for educational purposes.”
